The hours of operation for the facility are Monday to Thursday from 2-8pm. The following time slots are available: 

  • 2-3pm
  • 3:15-4:15pm
  • 4:30-5:30pm
  • 5:45-6:45pm
  • 7-8pm

Vulnerable Population: Tuesday & Thursday 10:30 to 13:30, please call to reserve 604-894-2340.

HOW TO RETURN TO THE FITNESS CENTRE

We are overjoyed to announce that the Pemberton & District Community Centre is re-opening in a COVID-19 modified format.

Things are definitely different:

  • Members are now going to BOOK their gym time in advance through our website www.pembertonrecreation.ca
  • Or directly through pemberton.perfectmind.com .
  • There will be NO drop-ins at this time - but we are accepting new members.
  • Step by step instructions have been included HERE on how to Book your workout time slot.

New Members can now purchase Fitness Memberships online. This means our patrons can easily purchase any passes that we currently offer through our website www.pembertonrecreation.ca. We hope to minimize cash transactions.

To ensure access for all, specific days and times have been allocated for the vulnerable population on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. This time slot is not bookable online - please call to register 604-894-2340 or email aleggett@pemberton.ca

It is imperative that Members please adhere to the following;

  • Stay home if sick or displaying any COVID-19 symptoms
  • Please arrive in workout clothes with gym shoes in hand 5 minutes prior to your booking.
  • Change rooms and showers are closed.
  • Use hand sanitizer upon entering the facility
  • Check in with attendant at the front desk
  • Maintain 2 meters physical distance at all times
  • Wipe equipment before and after use. Spray cloth, wipe and allow surface to air dry.
  • Do not move equipment. They have been placed to insure physical distancing can be maintained.

Value Added Classes (which are included in your membership) are being offered as well as 6 am Fitness Classes (not included in your membership) - please refer to our website for days and times of all group fitness classes.  The process will be the same as described above. Participants must register prior to the class in order to attend www.pembertonrecreation.ca .

  • Drop-ins will not be available.
  • Please arrive 5 minutes before the classes, late comers will not be able to attend at this time.

Cancellation Expectations

Cancellation is not currently available online, please call 604-894-2340 or email pemrecinfo@pemberton.ca.  It is of the utmost importance that patrons cancel their reservations if they cannot attend as spaces are limited!

What are we doing to keep you safe?

  • Stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19
  • Patrons must sanitize their hands when entering the facility. Sanitization stations are available throughout the facility.
  • Patrons must wait in the designated areas outside the building before their allocated timeslot/program.
  • 2 meter physical distancing is required.
  • Directional arrows, designated entrances/exits have been established to control the flow of traffic in the facility.
  • Demographic centered-schedule through staggered programming.
  • Increased cleaning protocols and expectations
  • Increased outdoor air intake as recommended by Work BC.

Failure to maintain physical distancing could result in the closure of the facility.

Value Added Classes

Value-Added Fitness and Yoga Classes are included with your fitness membership at no extra charge. Register early as class sizes are limited. Classes will either be held outdoors on the Community Lawn or in The Great Hall Space. Stay tuned for more classes being added throughout the season.

Weight Room Etiquette 101

10 Tips to Follow for an Enjoyable Work Out

A healthy lifestyle requires a healthy workout environment! To ensure everyone enjoys their workout we have 10 simple etiquette rules to take note of -because everyone deserves to make the most of their exercise.

  1. Be courteous and respectful of others
  2. Place your belongings in lockers
  3. Turn your cellphones to silent mode
  4. Wear appropriate workout attire (ex: clean T-shirts, shorts/sweat pants, clean athletic shoes)
  5. No open toe shoes or sandals
  6. Replace weights in rack after use - no dropping!
  7. Share equipment and clean it after use
  8. Be respectful of cardio equipment use if others are waiting (30 minute max)
  9. Use a clean towel during your workout
  10. Don't bring food into the weight room

Please note: only people aged 13 and older are allowed in the weight room. 13-15 year olds must have attended Youth on Weights.

Youth on Weights

Youth on Weights is a mandatory 3-hour (2 x 1.5 hour sessions) fitness orientation necessary for individuals 13-15 years of age wanting to utilize the fitness centre or attend fitness classes at the Pemberton and District Community Centre. The orientation must be facilitated by a certified personal trainer and should occur at the Pemberton and District Community Centre.

Registrants must pay the drop-in fee of $5.25 plus GST for each session. Registrants must also negotiate with instructors a fee for service for the facilitation of orientation.
