
The Council of the Village of Pemberton intends to consider an amendment Business Licence Bylaw No. 855, 2019 at the regular council meeting to be held at 5:30pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. The amendment proposes the following changes to the bylaw:
- To exempt a home exchange from short-term rental business licensing requirements
- To add a requirement for a short-term vacation rental host to display a decal indicating the presence of a short-term vacation rental on the premises, and
- To clarify the requirements for renewal of a business licence, including the addition of the requirement for a short-term rental operator to demonstrate that their accommodation has been rented on a short-term basis for at least 12 nights in the past year.
Copies of the proposed bylaw and background information may be viewed on the Village website at Pemberton.ca or inspected at the Village of Pemberton Office at 7400 Prospect Street during office hours from Friday, August 29th to Tuesday, September 9th.
All persons who consider that they are affected by the proposed bylaw will be provided reasonable opportunity to make representation to Council in writing prior to the September 9th meeting or to address Council at the meeting.
