Fire Ban Now in Effect

Posted on July 17, 2025

A full fire ban is in effect as of July 17, 2025 within the Village of Pemberton municipal boundaries. This includes all Category 1 (campfires), Category 2, and Category 3 open fires.

This action aligns with the full fire ban issued by the Coastal Fire Centre, which also takes effect on July 17.

To help keep our community safe, we ask everyone to comply with the ban. Your cooperation plays a critical role in preventing wildfires.

Report a Fire:

  • Call Pemberton Fire & Rescue during office hours
  • Call 911 outside of office hours
In addition to prohibiting the use of open fires of any size, the following activities are prohibited in most areas:
  • Fireworks; as defined in the Fireworks Act;
  • Binary Exploding Targets;
  • Sky Lanterns
  • Wood fired hot tubs, wood fired pizza ovens and other wood fired devices unless vented through a structure that has a flue and is incorporated in a building;
  • Burn Barrels or Burn Cages of any size or description;
