Snowfall Warning & Cold Weather Alert Issued for Pemberton

Posted on January 31, 2025

Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning and Cold Weather Alert for the Sea to Sky region for the next several days, bringing a wintery mix of weather conditions expected to impact the South Coast of BC. Winter weather conditions, like hail, blizzards, ice storms, high winds, and heavy rain can quickly become dangerous with little or no warning.

Make sure you are prepared for severe winter weather and storms. Here's are some tips to stay safe  and warm:

✔️ Prepare Your Vehicle: Keep your gas tank full, check tire tread, and carry an emergency kit with blankets, flashlight, windshield washer fluid, shovel, windshield scraper, and jumper cables.

✔️ Dress for the Cold: Wear layers, cover exposed skin, and limit time outdoors in extreme temperatures.

✔️ Check Conditions & Stay Informed: Follow @‌DriveBC and @‌TranBC for travel advisories and road conditions.

✔️ Avoid Risky Travel: If roads are hazardous, stay home if possible. If you must drive, go slow and keep plenty of distance from other vehicles.

✔️ Check on Neighbors: Look out for elderly or vulnerable neighbors who may need assistance.

Don't forget to stay informed by keeping an eye on local weather forecasts and sign up for Pemberton Alert, the Village of Pemberton's official emergency notification alert system.
