Preliminary Work Underway on New Water Treatment Facility

Posted on August 28, 2025

The Village of Pemberton has initiated preliminary site preparations at the Benchlands reservoir for a significant project: the development of a new Water Treatment Facility. This project is being funded by a total of $8.1 million from federal, provincial, and local sources.

Initial work has included brushing and clearing vegetation along the access road, survey work to establish the facility’s location, and geotechnical investigations to better understand ground conditions. Next steps will involve improvements to the access road and excavation work once the exact building location has been confirmed.

This work is not connected to private development in the Village. It’s an early step in a major capital project that will improve the quality and reliability of the community’s water supply.

As construction advances, we’ll continue to provide updates and more details about what residents can expect. Stay tuned for further news as we move forward with this important investment in Pemberton’s future.
