Friendship Trail Bridge Construction Update Highway 99 Traffic Disruptions & Noise Exemption Notification

Posted on October 05, 2018

The last phase of the installation of the Friendship trail Bridge, which crosses over the Lillooet River, will require intermittent road closures on Highway 99 at the bridge location and the need to work overnight.

This is to advise that the next phase of the construction of the Friendship Trail Bridge, which is being facilitated by Surespan Construction Ltd., will be commencing Tuesday, October 9, 2018 and will continue until Friday, October 12, 2018.

In order to accommodate this work one lane of Highway 99 will be closed 24 hours a day. As such, Single Lane Alternating Traffic will be in effect as of 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.  There may be further 30 minute closures to accommodate the movement of equipment. These closures will be taking place during night time hours in order to reduce traffic impacts.

The Village has also issued a Noise Exemption to Surespan to accommodate the overnight works.

The Village appreciates your patience as we work to complete this important community project.
