PEMBERTON, BC — The Village of Pemberton is pleased to announce the opening of the Rotary Amenity Building, a new community facility located at Den Duyf Park. This multi-purpose space is designed to support a range of community, recreational, and wellness activities year-round.
Purpose-built to accommodate a variety of uses, the Rotary Amenity Building features a standard kitchen for food service, accessible public washrooms and showers, and a covered outdoor deck that provides an inviting and functional connection to the surrounding park amenities. A rooftop viewing patio offers a unique vantage point of the park and surrounding landscape.
“Investing in infrastructure like this ensures our residents have access to welcoming, inclusive spaces for everything from meetings and events to fitness and family activities,” says Mayor Mike Richman, Village of Pemberton. “The Rotary Amenity Building strengthens our community connections and supports the kind of active, engaged lifestyle that defines Pemberton. It’s fitting that the facility bears a name that reflects the ongoing contributions of the Rotary Club of Pemberton; a community partner whose support continues to enhance a wide range of local initiatives."
This project is the latest component of a $4.2 million investment in Den Duyf Park, which also included the earlier addition of a second soccer field. Initiatives and project at Den Duyf Park are made possible through funding from the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia as well as seven local partners including the Den Duyf Family, the Squamish Lillooet Regional District (SLRD), Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, The Ridge at Pemberton, Sunstone Pemberton and the Rotary Club of Pemberton.
"The Rotary Club of Pemberton recognizes the value that recreation provides to the well being and benefit of all," says the Rotary Club of Pemberton. "We are honoured to be able to collaborate with the Village of Pemberton and many other amazing groups to give back to the community and assist with this wonderful facility."
An official grand opening celebration will take place on Monday, June 16 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at Den Duyf Park. Community members are invited to tour the new building, enjoy light refreshments, and take part in a formal ribbon cutting ceremony.
