The Pemberton and District Community Centre will be undergoing repairs to its heating and cooling systems, which will result in a short closure and a disruption to some programming.
The geothermal piping system that cools and heats the Pemberton and District Community Centre and Pemberton and District Public Library is damaged. Recently, this damage has caused two system failures. Yesterday (October 25) the SLRD Board approved the facilitation of repairs to the facility, and ordered the work to be carried out at a time of minimal disruption to the public. To this end, the building will be closed from Thursday, November 9 until Monday, November 13 (inclusive of the Remembrance Day statutory holiday).
