The Pemberton & District Community Centre is now offering LIVE online classes!! Spend some face to face time with your favourite local instructors !!

Purchase your membership, register for the classes you would like to attend, it's that simple!

Classes will be hosted on   Flower

May passes are currently available for $25 (this is a month to month service). Adult and Children passes are sold separately. Children's passes are shareable between siblings.

Online Adult Programs

 

Monday 
10 am Flow and Restore (1 hour) 
with Julia Harvey 
Flow or vinyasa style yoga class, matching breath to movement in combination with restorative poses allowing the body to unwind 

Tuesday 
10 am Bodyweight - Glutes And Core Circuit ( 1 hour )
with Anngela Leggett
A quick but intense bodyweight workout focusing on strength and endurance. We will challenge our cardio, strength and endurance using varying interval lengths for a full body workout. This will be followed by a hardcore Glutes and Core session!

Wednesday 
10 am Guided Meditation (30 minutes) 
with Andrea Zimmering
Join Andrea for a 30-minute mindfulness meditation focused on cultivating calm, connection and clarity. No experience required. 

11 am Gentle Yoga (30 minutes) 
with Sarah Walters 
Description - A methodical and gentle approach to poses, allowing for freedom within joints, movement and mind.

Thursday 
10 am Zumba (1 hour) 
with Carmen Laslett 
A Latin inspired dance fitness class that is great for everybody.  Zumba takes the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party.

Friday 
10 am Tabata (1 hour) 
with Michelle Nelson 
Tabata is an energetic fun-filled fitness class!  This class consists of 20 second intervals of hard work followed by a 10 second rest period repeated continuously every four minutes.

This month pass that will give you unlimited access to our online children's classes, the pass currently available will be valid from May 1 until May 31, 2020. Children's passes are shared among siblings.

Online Children Programs

Monday
11:30am-12pm Ballet/Jazz Combo (ages 4.5-7)
with Danielle
This combo class is a blast! It gives tiny dancers an opportunity to try two disciplines in one class. We will have a perfect combination of strength, stretch and structure mixed with the basics of ballet and jazz.

12:15pm-1:15pm Stretch and Strength (ages 8-15)
with Danielle
This is a fitness class for dancers. Cardio warm-up followed by dance conditioning and strengthening exercises that will build a strong core and great stamina.

1:30pm-2:30pm Intermediate Ballet (ages 9-15)
with Anna
This intermediate ballet class is Vaganova technique based and is open to students with 2+ years of ballet training.  Students can expect diverse ballet barre, engaging centre work, allegro and combinations.

Tuesday
2:30pm-3:30pm Contemporary (ages 8.5-15)
with Angela
This dance discipline is the fastest growing and most popular style in the world of dance.  The fusion of modern, jazz and ballet make this class a favourite amongst the students.  The dancer will focus on technique and expression that portray the feeling and mood of the music.

4pm-5pm Ballet (ages 6.5-9)
with Danielle
Ballet is a formalized type of performance dance which is primarily performed to the accompaniment of classical music. It is a highly technical and poised style of dance that lays foundation for many other dance styles. It teaches dancers poise, proper alignment, strength, coordination, flexibility, agility and gracefulness.

Wednesday
12:30pm-1pm Kinder Acro/Jazz (ages 4-6)br>This is a a Acro/Jazz class for younger dancers.

5pm-6pm Acro conditioning (ages 7-15)
with Anna
A conditioning class for current Acro or gym training students. Strength, flexibility and conditioning exercises will be taught in a safe environment. *previous Acro or gym training required.

Thursday
12:15pm-1:15pm Jazz (ages 8.5-15)
with Angela
This high-energy dance class is set to the upbeat music of today and will focus on classical jazz dance techniques, leaps and turns and fun dance combinations.

1:30pm-2:30pm Hip Hop (ages 7-14)
with Angela
This high-energy dance class will infuse the latest style of street dancing, breaking, popping and locking while encouraging participants individual dance style and personality.

Friday
 9am-9:30am Tiny Dancers (ages 2.5-4)

This class will have a weekly dance theme to let young dancers explore the world of movement through interactive songs and games.

2:15pm-3:15pm Intermediate Ballet (ages 9-15)
with Anna
A class for current ballet students looking to create deeper muscle memory using Progressing Ballet Technique method. A yoga mat and a small ball are required. 

50 + Online Programs

50+ Zoom Chat - Wednesdays

Held at 2pm on the first and third Wednesday of the month, Zoom chat allows 50+ community members to say hello to one another, talk, and have a chance to practice using Zoom. Zoom is an application which allows for video calls to be made via the internet.  50+ Chair Yoga

This is a free, soft, gentle 50+ Chair Yoga class where breath, movement & meditation are all combined. With your eyes half or fully closed you will focus on bending, stretching & folding using your breath to relax & release tension, calm your mind & restore your energy. This is a peaceful calming class interlaced with laughter. The first class will take place on Thursday April 30th at 8:45am. 50+ Strength Training

This free 50+ adult progressive strength training exercise class is designed to increase strength, flexibility, range of motion, mobility, gait and balance. The class will be 45 minutes long and the exercises will be performed in chairs (option to stand) with weights, elastic bands or just your body weight. The first class will take place on Friday May 8th at 11:30am. Youth Online Programs

Stop Motion Video Competition

Grade 8-12 youth in the Sea to Sky are invited to participate in a stop-motion video competition. The video can be any theme or genre but must be between 2-4 minutes long and contain at least 1 minute of stop-motion content. Submissions must be made by 7pm on Wednesday May 27th. The winner will receive a combination of gift cards totalling $70. Email Maddy at mhepner@pemberton.ca to be provided with the full competition details.

Netflix Party

All grade 8-12s are invited to join our Netflix Party at 7pm on Wednesday May 6th. Netflix Party allows friends to watch a movie at the same time whilst using the chat function. Have a laugh and joke along with this all-time favourite, Anchorman.

Fox and Chicken Zoom Game

All Grade 8-12’s are invited to partake in this online game via Zoom at 3:30pm on Wednesday May 13th. This variation of Mafia and Werewolf, ‘Fox and Chicken’, is a team game where you have to read each other’s faces to try guess who is lying and who is telling the truth. The game has two phases. During the night phase, the Foxes secretly select a chicken to be their dinner. During the day phase everyone has to work together to decide who they think is a fox. The game concludes when either all the chickens or all the foxes have been eliminated.

Nailed it! Zoom Baking Competition

This fun, no experience necessary, baking competition will take place over Zoom at 3:30pm on Wednesday May 20th. Participants will compete to create the most aesthetically pleasing result in this funny, lighthearted competition. Ingredient list will be provided 1 week prior to the competition but bakers will not be told what they are baking until the competition starts! A recipe will be provided at the start of the competition. The winner will receive a $10 Spotify and a $15 Subway gift card.

Youth Bodyweight Fitness

Join Michelle for this free, fun 45 minute full-body workout class on Thursdays at 3pm. Open to youth aged 13-16, this class will include a series of body weight and core strengthening exercises. You will build strength, improve endurance, cardiovascular conditioning and gain confidence. The first class will take place at 3pm on Thursday May 7th.
