2011 Wellness Gathering Information

It takes a village to raise a child... and in our valley, it takes neighbouring communities to nurture healthy families. The focus of the event this year is centred on youth health and wellbeing. The event kicks off with a motivational speaker on the effects of addictions followed by a catered lunch and the recognition awards ceremony. The Health and Wellness Trade show will feature active living demonstrations, workshops, and a chance to receive a complimentary paint ball pass.

A highlight of the event is the Winds of Change Recognition Awards Ceremony. Seven awards will be presented during lunch to individuals and organizations that contribute to our collective goal of a healthy and safe environment for our children and families. The seven awards are divided into four categories: The North Wind - Promoting Healthy Lifestyle Choices; The South Wind - Increasing Awareness; The East Wind - Improving Services; and The West Wind - Community Leadership and Responsibility.
