As per Village of Pemberton 2011 General Local Election Bylaw No. 667, 2011 and as authorized under section 73 of the Local Government Act, public access to nomination documents will be provided at the Village of Pemberton Office, 7400 Prospect Street, during regular office hours from the time of delivery, and also electronically on the Village of Pemberton website, within 2 business days from time of delivery. NOTICE OF NOMINATION
Public Notice is given to the electors of the Village of Pemberton that nominations for the offices of:
ONE (1)
MAYOR
FOUR (4) COUNCILLOR
ONE (1) SCHOOL TRUSTEE
will be received by the Chief Election Officer or a designated person, as follows:
Village of Pemberton Office
7400 Prospect Street
9 AM Tuesday, October 4, 2011
to 4 PM Friday, October 14, 2011
(excluding Statutory holidays and weekends)
Nomination documents are available at the Pemberton Village Office during regular office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM except Statutory holidays), or visit the 2011 Election Page for nomination package and information.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a member of local government if they meet all of the following criteria:
- Canadian citizen;
- 18 years of age or older;
- resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination paper are filed; and
- not disqualified by the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in BC or from being nominated for, being elected to, or holding office.
NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates shall be nominated in writing in accordance with Section 72 of the Local Government Act by two (2) qualified electors of the Village of Pemberton. Copies of all necessary forms are available at the Village Office.
