NOTICE OF JUDICIAL RECOUNT RESULTS

NORTH VANCOUVER, BC - It has been determined by the Provincial Courts that Alan Leblanc will take the fourth Council seat for the Village of Pemberton.   In accordance with the Local Government Act, an application was made to the Provincial Court for a Judicial Recount after the Municipal recount resulted in a tie of votes for Alan Leblanc and Niki Vankerk.  Read complete media release >

NOTICE OF Election Results

I, Sheena Fraser, Chief Election Officer, do hereby declare elected the following candidates, who received the highest number of valid votes of Councillor.

1.         James Linklater

2.         Mike Richman

3.         Ted Craddock

Due to a tie in valid votes cast between Alan LeBlanc and Niki Vankerk for the fourth position of Councillor, the final decision with respect to the vote for this position will be referred to a Judicial Recount as per Section 8 of the Village of Pemberton Election Bylaw No. 667, 2011.  As per Section 139 of the Local Government Act, the Judicial Recount will be held within 13 days after the close of general voting and the Village will be making that application immediately.

2011 Election Guides Now Available

The Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development (Ministry) has developed a number of guides to provide information about the general local election for candidates, election officials, the public and others.  The 2011 Candidate's Guide, Voter's Guide and Campaign Organizer and Elector Organization Guide have been updated from previous versions to include additional information.

Two additional guides have also been developed for 2011: the Guide to Supporting a Candidate; and the Campaign Financing and Standard Forms Booklet.

Nomination papers available for public inspection from time of delivery.

Nomination period ends @ 4 PM

4 PM deadline for nominations if extension due to insufficient candidates

October 21, 2011
Deadline for withdrawal of candidates @ 4 PM

November 9, 2011
Advance voting day - 8 AM to 8 PM @ the VoP office.

November 19, 2011
