Village of Pemberton Council to Consider Temporary Use Permit (TUP) for Pemberton Music Festival

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 494 (1)-(4) of the Local Government Act, RSBC 2015, that the Village of Pemberton will consider a Temporary Use Permit at its Regular Meeting.

What is the Request for a Temporary Use Permit about?

To authorize a renewal of a three (3) year Temporary Use Permit to facilitate the use of the subject lands for the holding and preparation/tear-down of the four (4) day Pemberton Music Festival during the month of July in 2017, 2018, and 2019. The proposed uses of the subject lands includes:

• The Main Festival Venue, including stages with front and back of house services, a VIP area, concessions for food, beverages, crafts and merchandise, portable toilets, garbage/recycling facilities, medical services, security, safety, accreditation information and lost and found. Programming will begin on a Thursday and run through until midnight on Sunday (specific dates to be announced).

• Campgrounds, that will include approximately 6,326 sites, located within the Festival site and will be in operation for four days over the Festival. The camping grounds will include portable toilets and shower trailers, garbage/recycling receptacles, a general store, food and beverage vending, entertainment areas and ancillary functionsrelated to security and safety. Additional RV camping sites will be located on adjacent lands within the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District.

• Event parking, comprising approximately 1,125 spaces within the Festival site with ancillary uses such as portable toilets and garbage/recycling receptacles will be required for the month of July. Parking areas proposed within the Business (Industrial) Park will also include site operations, food and beverage, and a resource and waste management operations compound. Additional parking will be located on nearby properties within the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District.

Subject Lands: The Pemberton Music Festival is proposed to occur on nine (9) properties within the Village of Pemberton boundaries. The legal descriptions of the properties are available at the Village Office and at www.pemberton.ca. The map below indicates the location of the properties (outlined in black). Properties outside the Village boundaries are not shown in the map below.

Inspection of Request & Relevant Background Documents:

A copy of the application and relevant background documents may be inspected at the Village of Pemberton Office, 7400 Prospect Street during the office hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday (excluding statutory holidays), and also online at www.pemberton.ca.
